At The Walden Dental Clinic, we use white fillings for a number of patients who don’t want metallic fillings due to their appearance or because of a sensitivity to metal.
Just like traditional fillings, a white filling is used to seal a cavity or hole that has developed in a tooth due to decay. They are also used when a tooth has been damaged due to trauma or have worn down.
Unlike traditional fillings, however, white fillings are bonded directly onto the affected tooth’s enamel, so only the damaged part is removed rather than a larger part of the natural tooth.
White fillings help to strengthen teeth weakened by decay or damage and are barely visible, so no one needs to know about your dental treatment.
Before the filling has been applied to the tooth, we will fill the hole or cavity with aluminium oxide to prepare and clean it.
